This unique class is about learning to think “outside the box” and express yourself-not about right or wrong answers. We do not have tests or quizzes. We do, however, have engaging discussions, relevant classwork, minimal amounts of homework, internet research in labs, fun presentations, and creative projects. You receive grades for your work and are expected to participate in everything that we do. I look forward to getting to know you and your views. Do not be afraid to express yourself-just remember to do so in a respectful way.
Because you are a gifted student and concerned about your grades, below is a breakdown of how I assign you a numerical score for your report card. One word of advice-be sure to turn everything in on time. Otherwise points will be deducted, and your grade will be adversely affected. This will prepare you for the future of high school and college.
Classwork/Participation—20% Tests-40%
Homework—10% Presentations-30%
This semester we will be exploring the following areas of CHANGE:
· Personal Change
· Measuring change
· Childhood development
· Adolescent development
· Adulthood
This class is your right and privilege as a gifted student of C. M. Eppes, so have fun and enjoy it!
